Why Nevis? This is proven classic

Nevis is part of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis, islands in the Lesser Antilles. Along with other Caribbean countries, Nevis offers attractive opportunities for opening a business company in the region. The jurisdiction maintains friendly relationships with global regulators such as FATF, OECD, and the EU.

The popularity of Nevis in the offshore market keeps growing. There are several good reasons for that. The most important of them include the following ones:

  1. Fast company formation and virtually no restrictions on the origin or nationality of the company founders.
  2. Lack of state currency control.
  3. Foreign LLCs are tax-exempt in Nevis. Whatever profit the company obtains outside the jurisdiction, it is not taxable in Nevis. The company only has to pay an annual registration extension fee.
  4. The company assets are efficiently protected from foreign creditors. It’s extremely hard if not impossible for a creditor to take hold of Nevis-based property. If a lawsuit is to be filed against a Nevis-based company, this can be done in Nevis only. Foreign court decisions have no legal power in Nevis. Besides, the claimant has to pay US$ 100,000 to start the legal process. These factors practically reduce to zero the chances of the claimant to win the case.
  5. Personal data of the company owners are well protected by the legislation in Nevis. The company founders do not have to disclose their names to the Public Business Register and all the personal information remains with the agent.
  6. All accounting and business records that the company keeps can be stored in any country that the company owners prefer, not necessarily in Nevis.
  7. Records need to be kept but they don’t have to be audited. The records have to be submitted if an official request is made by a government agency. Accounting reports have to remain available for inspection for 5 years.
